Vita Heathcote and Ryan Orr won the first race by a comfortable margin before Martin Wrigley and Eilidh McIntyre ensured it was a day to remember for Britain.

Heathcote and Orr earned one and nine points today to remain eighth overall with 42 points while Wrigley and McIntyre recorded -22 and one to finish 12th in the standings on 50 points.

"We knew from yesterday that the pressure was good over there on the left, and we knew before the start that we were going to commit, we weren’t going to muck around with the right-hand side," Heathcote and Orr said after the race.

"We had options to tack earlier but we were going fast and it felt good going all the way over there."

The French duo of Camille Lecointre and Jérémie Mion finished behind the Brits in both the races today.

The 37-year-old Lecointre, who has won two Olympic bronze medals, combined well with Rio 2016 Olympian Mion to secure an impressive result for France.

Their score of two and two helped them jump from 10th into 2nd overall with 27 points.

Meanwhile, the Germans continued their strong start to the Championship with Luise Wanser & Philipp Autenrieth extending their lead at the top by six points on 21.

The duo earned six and four points in their two races today.

Spain’s Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman are third overall.

They scored eight and five in their two races to finish on 37 points overall.

However, today’s results do not mean anything in terms of medals with at least the top-seven still in contention to finish on the podium in Israel.
