The final day of the 2022 International Cycling Union (UCI) Track Cycling World Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines saw Elia Viviani of Italy, Lea Sophia Friedrich of Germany and Harrie Lavreysen of The Netherlands defend the elimination, keirin and sprint titles respectively.

Viviani defended silver medallist Corbin Strong of New Zealand and Britain’s bronze medallist Ethan Vernon to win back-to-back titles in France.

Friedrich made it three medals and second gold in the championships after winning silver in the sprint and gold in the team sprint events.

The German took another rainbow jersey ahead of Japan’s silver medallist Mina Sato and The Netherlands’ Steffie van der Peet, who claimed bronze.

With 10 world titles, Lavreysen is now unbeaten in four World Championships in the sprint event as he bagged another gold in France.

Matthew Richardson of bagged the silver medal while compatriot Matthew Glaetzer settled for bronze after a battle with Mateusz Rudyk of Poland.

With 60 points, Britain’s Neah Evans won the women’s points race on Sunday, winning her first individual rainbow jersey on the track.

Julie Leth of Denmark with 53 points and Jennifer Valente of the United States on 51 points took silver and bronze respectively.

The hosts had reason to cheer on the final day as Benjamin Thomas and Donavan Grondin gave France a gold medal in the men’s madison.

The duo claimed 65 points to claim the title in dominating fashion.

Britain’s Ethan Hayter and Oliver Wood bagged silver after getting only 47 points.

The bronze went to Belgium’s Fabio van den Bossche and Lindsay de Vylder, who managed 43 points.
