The International High Performance Center for Taekwondo (CIARTKD) in Sogamoso in Colombia has been approved to host four international events in October following a Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) inspection.

PATU President Juan Manuel López Delgado and Colombian Taekwondo Federation technical director Cito Forero led an inspection, which the PATU said the facility passed with a high grade.

It means the CIARTKD is due to be the epicentre of PATU activities for much of the remainder of 2022.

This should including staging the Children's Pan American Taekwondo Championships, featuring both poomsae and kyorugui disciplines, between October 11 and 14.

An arbitration seminar and refresher courses for both poomsae and kyorugui are due to precede the age-group competition between October 6 and 12.

The Colombia Open - a senior G2 competition - is then scheduled from October 15 to 17.

The PATU President said it gave him "honor and pride to be able to see Colombia's structural advancement in taekwondo with athletes top in the ranking and a headquarters of the highest level for the organisation of events of international scale."

Another PATU country, Mexico, is also due to stage the World Taekwondo Championships later this year.

Guadalajara is due to hold competition from November 13 to 20.
