Czech Republic won gold in the 25 metres rapid fire pistol team event.

The contest went down to the final shot before the Czechs Martin Podhrasky, Tomas Tehan and Matej Rampula clinched victory.

The Indians had come through the qualification round on top and looked well placed for victory.

Anish Bhanwala, a 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Vijayveer Sidhu and Sameer raced into a 10-2 lead but gradually the Czechs recovered and eventually clinched gold 17-15.

South Korean trio Song Jong-ho, Lee Jae-kwoon and Han Dae-yoon beat Japan 17-1 to claim the bronze medal.

Even so, the Indians still returned home as the most successful nation with five golds, six silvers and four bronzes.
