Pyeongchang_logo_Dec_6December 6 - Sports fans travelling to the South Korean city of Pyeongchang - potential host of the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics - can now take advantage of a free shuttle bus service to its resorts.


The service, launched by Gangwon Province and the Visit Korea Committee, will connect Seoul with the Alpensia Resort and Gangneung, the respective mountain cluster and coastal cluster of the Pyeongchang 2018 plan, and the proposed location of the Olympic Villages and competition venues.

The shuttle is designed to provide the growing number of winter sports tourists with easy access to Gangwon Province and will operate for three months of each winter season.

Kyung-Hwa Hahn, marketing director of the Visit Korea Committee, said: "The new shuttle service to Gangwon Province will help the ever-increasing number of tourists visiting the region enjoy the winter sports facilities and the great new hospitality and entertainment options.

"Pyeongchang and the Gangwon Province are already popular destinations for winter sports enthusiasts and with the launch of this new service we look forward to welcoming even more people to the area to enjoy all the amenities it has to offer."

Yang Ho Cho, Pyeongchang 2018 Bid Committee chairman and chief executive officer, said: "Gangwon Province is a wonderful place to visit and I believe visitors to the region will have a magical time enjoying all the sporting and entertainment choices at our world class resorts.

"We look forward to welcoming all the winter sports fans to Pyeongchang this winter, and we would be honoured to welcome the world for the Winter Games in 2018."
