Duncan Keith, who has claimed two Olympic ice hockey gold medals with Canada, has retired from the sport aged 39.

The Canadian enjoyed an incredible career internationally and domestically where he won several titles.

Keith was a key defenceman of Canada’s triumphant pursuit for gold at Vancouver 2010.

Canada achieved their eighth ice hockey title at the Winter Olympics thanks to a 3-2 overtime win against rivals, the United States.

The success propelled Keith to the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2012 alongside his teammates.

Keith also secured a silver medal at the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship after losing 5-4 to Russia.

Keith inscribed his name into National Hockey League (NHL) history by securing the famous Stanley Cup on three occasions - in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

He won the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 2010 and 2014.

In 2017, the ice hockey great was named in NHL’s top-100 players of all-time list.
