Germany’s Yannick Flohé won the men’s boulder title on the final day of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup in Brixen, Italy.

Reigning combined world champion Flohé had never stood on the podium before in an IFSC World Cup, but managed two tops and four zones on his way to victory.

Silver went to Britain’s Maximillian Milne, who also stood on an IFSC World Cup podium for the first time, after achieving two tops and three zones.

Milne also earned the only flash of the night, so-called when a competitor reaches the top at the first attempt, achieving this in the first part of the final.

The podium was completed by Japan’s Tomoa Narasaki, who achieved bronze after finishing with one top and four zones.

The result earned Narasaki, who finished fourth in the men’s combined event at Tokyo 2020, a 26th IFSC World Cup medal.

Lee Dohyun of South Korea placed fourth, with Yoshiyuki Ogata of Japan in fifth, both with scores of one top and four zones.

The field was completed by Meichi Narasaki, brother of Tomoa, in sixth, with one top and three zones.

The next round of the IFSC World Cup series is scheduled to take place in Innsbruck, Austria, between June 22 and 26, with competitions due to be held in the boulder and lead disciplines.
