Rebecca Langrehr of Germany is the leader after the women's semi-finals, heading into the last stage of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) World Cup with an advantage in Ankara.

Having finished first in fencing, Langrehr has the maximum 250 points with swimming, riding and laser run rounds still to come.

She finished first in semi-final A along with Marlena Jawaid of Sweden and Salma Abdelmaksoud of Egypt on 1,070 points, with Britain's Charlie Follett and Kim Sun-woo of South Korea narrowly behind.

Semi-final B was won by Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Kate French from Britain, who topped the overall standings today with 1,074.

However, her fencing position of seventh means she holds a deficit to Langrehr going into Saturday's (June 11) final.

Italian Francesca Tognetti finished second behind French, while Ilke Ozyuksel of Turkey, Mexico's Mayan Oliver and Jessica Varley from Britain completed that semi-final's top five.

Competition continues tomorrow with the men's semi-finals.
