Tokyo 2020 gold medallists Anders Mol and Christian Sørum have exited the World Volleyball Beach Pro Tour in Jūrmala in Latvia after forfeiting their last two games due to injury.

The Olympic champions, who lost their opener yesterday in three games, withdrew due to injury before their second match, handing their scheduled opponents George Souto Maior Wanderley and Andre Loyola Stein of Brazil a 2-0 win.

Estonians Kusti Nõlvak and Mart Tiisaar, who were due to be Mol and Sørum's final opponents, were also handed a 2-0 walkover win.

Andre and George topped the group with three wins from three after winning every set.

Their Brazilian compatriots Talita da Rocha Antunes and Rebecca Cavalcanti Barbosa Silva have taken the women's competition by storm and have surged into the knockout rounds with a perfect record.

The pair cruised past Sara Hughes and Kelley Kolinske of the United States in Pool D with a 21-13, 21-14 triumph in which Talita was dominant all over the court.

She recorded 14 attack points, three block points, and one serve point at a game-high efficiency percentage of 37.78 while making just one error to cover her team-mates five errors.

Latvians Marta Ozolina and Luize Skrastina were the next to stand in their way but not for long as they lost quickly 21-10, 21-14.

The Brazilian duo are set to face Canada's Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes in the quarter-finals tomorrow.

The action tomorrow will also see the finalists of both the men's and women's tournaments decided before Sunday's (June 5) gold medal matches.
