The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OKBIH) has provided equipment to the national curling body it recently recognised.

A meeting was held with the Curling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the OKBIH’s headquarters on May 5.

The OKBIH said the provision of equipment was part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to support athletes in international competitions.

Team kits were provided to ensure a unified appearance of national teams at events.

"This is a continuation of the project from 2020, within which the sports federations of BiH - full members of the OKBIH, and which are on the Olympic programme, received equipment for national teams, all for uniformity and adequate performance in international competitions," said Milanko Mučibabić, OKBIH President.

"The Curling Association of BiH is the youngest association to join the Olympic family, and on that occasion, the OK BiH decided to hand them the equipment."

The Curling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was admitted as a full OKBIH member on March 31.

The organisation had been established as a legacy of the 2019 European Winter Youth Olympic Festival in Sarajevo.

"I am pleased to say that the Curling Federation was admitted to full membership in the Olympic Sports family at the last General Assembly of the OK BiH," said Miro Klepić, Curling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina President.

"We would like to especially thank the Presidency, members of the Executive Committee, and the Secretary General of the OKBIH, who helped us solve the problem of registering the alliance in the Ministry of Justice of BiH.

"We are taking over the equipment provided by OKBIH for our national team."

Bosnia and Herzegovina's national team wore the kit for the first rime at the Ljubljana Open.

Competition was held from May 6 to 8 in the ice hall of SC Zalog in Ljubljana.

The national team finished ninth in the tournament after winning three of five matches.

The event featured 24 teams from 11 countries.
