Italy and France won the junior team sabre titles on the third day of the International Fencing Federation Junior and Cadet Fencing World Championships in Dubai.

In total, 34 men’s teams participated in the junior sabre competition, with Italy defeating Romania 45-41 in the final.

Earlier in the semi-finals Italy had beaten Spain 45-33, while Romania overcame Egypt 45-39.

Egypt won the bronze medal after defeating Spain 45-40.

A total of 27 teams took part in the women’s junior sabre competition, with France claiming gold after overcoming Hungary 45-41 in the final.

Earlier in the semi-finals Hungary beat Italy 45-43, with France defeating Mexico by the same scoreline.

Italy won the bronze medal match with a 45-36 victory against Mexico.

Action is scheduled to take place over nine days at the Hamdan Sports Complex in the city.
