Beijing 2022 Olympic gold medallists Sweden begin their bid for a fourth consecutive World Men's Curling Championship title tomorrow in Las Vegas.

Sweden are one of 13 teams set to feature at the Orleans Arena in the American city, and are due to begin their campaign tomorrow in the second round robin session against The Netherlands.

That is set to take place alongside South Korea against the 2014 winners Norway.

In the first session, hosts United States are scheduled to take on Denmark, with Beijing 2022 bronze medallists and record 36-time winners Canada due to face the Czech Republic.

Later in the day, 2021 runners-up Scotland are set to face Italy, with Switzerland due to take on Finland, who have replaced the Russian Curling Federation due to the ban imposed following the invasion of Ukraine.

Scottish players comprised the British team which earned silver at the Winter Olympics.

In the final session of the first day of competition, Germany are due to start their tournament against The Netherlands with Canada set to return to the ice against Norway.

There are 20 planned round robin sessions running until next Friday (April 8), with teams expected to face each other twice in the round robin.

The top two ranked sides advance automatically to the semi-finals, with those placed third to sixth competing in qualification games for the right to join them.

Those knockout ties are scheduled for April 9, with the medal games set to conclude the World Championship on April 10.

Having already featured at the World Women's Curling Championship in Prince George, the no-tick zone rule is set to be trialled once again.

The "no-tick zone" applies to any stone in the free guard zone touching the centre line while the free guard zone rule is in effect.

If an opponent's stone is moved from the no-tick zone, while the free guard zone rule is in action, it is treated similarly to a violation of the free guard zone.
