Vietnam won two gold medals on day two of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships ©JJAU

Vietnam captured two gold medals in women's competition on the second day of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championships at the Bahrain National Stadium, sending the nation third on the medals table.

Phung Thi Hue gave Vietnam the first title, beating the United Arab Emirates' Hamdah Al Shkeili in the women's under-45 kilograms final in Riffa.

Bronze went to Tadaporn Sakaew of Thailand and Dilnaz Kumarova of Kazakhstan.

The second gold was won by Dương Thị Thanh Minh in the women's under-52kg final against Jordan's Meqbel Rania; Kristina Zhurabekova of Kazakhstan and the UAE's Maitha Shraim claimed bronze.

Jordan took a second gold medal of the Asian Championships to stay second in the medals table, thanks to the efforts of Abdalrahman Abuirmeilh who won the men's under-94kg final against Bahrain's Murtaz Shamkhalov.

Shamkhalov's compatriot Gadzhi Gadzhiev and Ruslan Sagdeev of Kyrgyzstan completed the podium.

Saudi Arabia won its first Asian title of 2022 after Hussam Ashour defeated Iraq's Alaa Al-Roghani in the men's over-94kg, with the pair joined on the podium by bronze medallists Talgat Zhiyentayev from Kazakhstan and Muhammad Tajqah from Jordan.

The rest of the golds went to the dominant nation, the UAE, with Shamma Alkalbani winning the team's only women's title of the day in the under-63kg gold-medal match against Thailand's Orapa Senatham.

Aizham Kadyrbekova of Krygyzstan and Singapore's Constance Lien took bronze.

Khaled Alshehhi won the men's under-62kg gold medal having defeated Amirul Syafiq Bin Shah Eran of Singapore, while Omar Alfadhli of the UAE and Bahrain's Abdulla Seena were third.

Mohamed Alamri then went on to win the men's under-77kg final against Ala Aldin Al-Khuzai of Jordan.

Banpot Lertthaisong from Thailand and Torokan Bagynbai Uulu from Kyrgyzstan were third.

Ju-jitsu fighting competition is set to take place tomorrow here at the Bahrain National Stadium.
