Turkey closed the World Shooting Para Sport European 10-metre Championships in dominant fashion in Hamar.

The country picked up both gold and silver medals in the P6 10 metre air pistol mixed team.

Ayşegül Pehlivanlar and Cevat Karagol, representing Turkey 1, outclassed Aysel Özgan and Murat Oguz, representing Turkey 2, 16-8 to win gold.

Karagol outshone his two-time Paralympic medallist partner with three scores above 10, one of which was a perfect 10.9.

Pehlivanlar regularly scored in the nines to aid Karagol’s spectacular performance.

Oguz and Özgan could not find a reply throughout the encounter, with their scores tending to fluctuate between above 10 and below nine.

In the bronze medal match, North Macedonia’s Olivera Nakovska-Bikova and Vanco Karanfilov bettered Norway’s Espen Boersum Jensen and Sun Bore 16-6.

Nakovska-Bikova, who won gold in the P2 10m air pistol, hit the maximum 10.9 on her final shot to close out the fixture.

The other gold of the day went to Poland’s Paralympian Szymon Sowiński in the P5 mixed 10m air pistol standard SH1, from compatriot Kacper Pierzynski and France’s Gaelle Edon.

Sowiński scored a total of 352 to marginally beat his two competitors by two points.
