Joyce Chepkemoi and Samuel Chebolei led Kenyan one-two-threes at their home World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold event at the Lobo Village in Eldoret.

In the women's 10 kilometres race, Chepkemoi made her move with about two laps of the 2km course remaining, finishing in a time of 34min 02sec.

Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi placed second in 34:09, with Nespine Jepleting further back as her 34:22 effort clinched bronze.

Joint-Tour leader and fellow Kenyan Beatrice Chebet came fourth with a 34:33 effort.

Chebolei finished strongly in the men's 10 kilometres race to pull 14 seconds clear of Nicholas Kimeli, recording victory in 29:46.

Michael Kibet rounded off the top three in 30:10, seven seconds quicker than fellow Kenyan Stanley Waithaka Mburu.

The inaugural Agnes Tirop Memorial event was named in honour of the two-time World Athletics Championships bronze medallist in the women's 10,000 metres, who was stabbed to death at her home at the age of 25 in October.

Her husband Emmanuel Ibrahim Rotich has been charged with her murder and has pleaded not guilty in court.

Three further Gold events remain scheduled on this year's World Athletics Cross Country Tour, the next of which is set to be the CrossCup de Hannut in Belgium next Sunday (February 20).
