Beijing 2022 has reported eight positive tests from within the closed loop in operation at the Winter Olympics here in their latest update on figures.

Organisers reported that no positive cases were discovered in the 81 Olympic-related arrivals at the Beijing Capital International Airport.

It marks for the second time no cases have been reported among arrivals during the Games-time period, which began on January 23.

The number of arrivals has significantly reduced in recent days, with the peak period having been passed as Games approaches its midway point.

Beijing 2022 confirmed eight new cases from within the closed loop yesterday.

This included four athletes and team officials.

The remaining four cases involved other Games stakeholders.

The positives followed 71,184 PCR tests conducted yesterday on Games participants in the closed loop.

This included tests on 6,500 athletes and team officials, with a further 64,684 on other stakeholders.

The three-day rolling average is now nine cases, while the cumulative total of cases for the Games has now reached 426.

New cases have largely remained low for the past week.

Daily cases have only exceeded double figures once in the past five days.
