The Winter Paralympics team consists of Ade Adepitan, Arthur Williams, Billy Monger and Sean Rose leading the presenting department

British champions Lauren Steadman and Ellie Robinson will be joined by fellow Para athletes Ed Jackson, Billy Monger and Sean Rose.

The overnight coverage will be presented by Williams, who was also part of the London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 team, whilst sports presenter and wheelchair basketballer Adepitan, who was awarded for his Tokyo 2020 highlights show, will return to the same role.

The Breakfast Show will be headed by triathlete gold medallist Steadman and former rugby player Jackson.

Robinson, a recently retired Paralympic swimmer who won gold and silver at Rio 2016, and Monger, a British racing car driver, will act as dedicated on-screen reporters and Rose, a former sit-skier and three-time world champion, will take on the role of pundit.

 "Channel 4 is incredibly proud to announce a stellar presenting team and - in a first for any broadcaster around the world - an entire presenting team who are disabled," Ian Katz, Channel 4’s director of programmes, said.

"This is a testament to the brilliant disabled presenting talent we have in the UK and underlines our commitment to providing opportunities for people with disabilities and making our output truly representative of the entire population."

Last year, the broadcaster launched its "engage and enable" disability strategy to improve disabled representation.

Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) said: "When I heard that all of Channel 4’s presenting team at the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games will be persons with disabilities I was stunned, but not surprised because they are a world-leading organisation in disability inclusion."

"They are exactly what public sector broadcasting is all about, having the bravery to say: 'we will be the first to do that'," Parsons added.

"And this latest landmark decision is important because representation matters.

"There are over 15 per cent of persons in Great Britain with a disability and they should be able to switch on a TV and see wonderfully ordinary persons with disabilities like them in front of the camera."

Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Therese Coffey added that the all-disabled presenting team is a "momentous milestone" and is an "inspiring reminder that we should be judged by what we can do, rather than what we cannot".

Channel 4 have exclusive broadcast rights to Paralympic coverage at Beijing 2022 and they will have over 80 hours of Paralympic coverage from China on free-to-air television and streaming on the C4 YouTube channel.

Tokyo 2020 Paralympics saw Channel 4 attract 20 million viewers from the UK.

The Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games will take place between March 4 and 13.
