Portugal produced another sensational comeback to win the UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 final in The Netherlands while Spain won the bronze medal for the second time.

Jorge Braz's side quickly found themselves two goals down to Russia before staging an epic fightback to win 4-2 in Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome just two days after their comeback victory against Spain in the semi-finals.

Russia drew first blood after 10 minutes through Anton Sokolov who latched on to a Paulinho long ball before lashing home beyond goalkeeper André Sousa.

A seamless team move led to Andrei Afanasyev doubling the lead for Russia.

Tomás Paço scored against the run of play, as Russia looked like grabbing a third, to catch Dmitri Putilov off guard.

Unable to properly deal with a powerful André Coelho strike, Putilov put the ball into his own net to level the scores.

No team had ever won in the final after going two goals down, but the World Cup winners started to believe when Coelho was credited with a goal of his own after tapping in a Miguel Angelo cross at the far post.

Pany Varela, who scored the World Cup winning goal last year, robbed the ball from Chishkala before dibbling into an empty net with one second of the match remaining.

With the win, Portugal became only the second nation after Spain to retain the title as they beat their neighbour 3-2 in the 2018 decider.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin presented the trophy to Portugal as well as the Player of the Tournament award to 20-year-old Zicky Té.

Russia have now lost six times in the final.

Spain breezed past Ukraine 4-1 in a commanding performance in the third-place playoff.

Mellado opened the scoring for Spain inside 11 minutes before Ihor Cherniavskyi struck back for the three-time finalists.

However, Solano gave his country the lead again a minute later.

Boyis and Adolfo scored a quickfire double with 10 minutes remaining to seal the victory.
