A new six-member panel has been installed as the Chilean Olympic Committee (COCH) Athletes' Commission.

The new Athletes' Commission is led by chair Francisca Crovetto, who won silver medals in skeet shooting at the Lima 2019 and Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games as well as bronze at Toronto 2015.

Lima 2019 beach volleyball gold medallist Esteban Grimalt and silver medal-winning modern pentathlete Esteban Bustos are also on the Commission.

Bustos will serve as vice-chair.

Hockey player Claudia Schüler, discus thrower Karen Gallardo and Alpine skier Henrik von Appen complete the rest of the panel.

Von Appen is one of four Chileans due to compete at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic next month.

All six were unanimously elected as the only candidates who met gender, team sports and winter sports representation quotas, the COCH said.

"We are very happy with this new directive, we are athletes who represent the diversity that high performance has, and in compliance with the election regulations we have athletes from summer, winter, individual, collective and gender parity disciplines," said Crovetto.

Crovetto will represent the group with a seat on the COCH Board of Directors.

"The Chilean Olympic Committee has been concerned for years to listen to athletes, and one of the best ways to do so is through institutionality and having a representative of them on our Board of Directors," added COCH President Miguel Ángel Mujica.

"We had the opportunity to meet with Francisca and Esteban Bustos, we are sure that the entire Athletes' Commission will do a great job."
