Sandro Bazadze of Georgia won gold on home soil in one of four Fencing World Cups, which took place across three countries this weekend.

Bazadze triumphed in a men’s World Cup, in the sabre discipline, held in Tbilisi, as he defeated Kamil Ibragimov of Russia, who claimed silver.

The two bronze medals went to Bolade Apithy of France and Junghwan Kim of South Korea.

In the women’s sabre World Cup, also taking place in Tbilisi, gold went to France’s Caroline Queroli as she defeated Greece’s Theodora Gkountoura by 15 touches to 12.

The two bronze medals went to Yana Egorian of Russia and Rossella Gregorio of Italy.

In the women’s foil World Cup, held in Poznań, Poland, gold went to former world champion Alice Volpi of Italy, with silver going to Eleanor Harvey of Canada.

The two bronze medals went to Martina Favaretto of Italy and Qingyuan Chen of China.

In the team competition the United States claimed gold, with silver going to Japan and Poland winning bronze.

In a men’s foil World Cup, held in Paris, France, gold went to Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Cheung Ka-Long of Hong Kong.

Long defeated Edoardo Luperi by 15 touches to 12, forcing the Italian to settle for silver.

Bronze medals went to Chase Emmer of the United States and Alessio Foconi of Italy.

In the team competition Italy took gold, with silver won by France and the United States taking bronze.
