Italy's Sofia Goggia secured her second victory at this weekend's women's Alpine Ski World Cup double-header on the Piste Oreiller-Killy in Val d'Isère, triumphing in the super-G discipline.

Goggia had won the first super-G event of the year at Lake Louise at the start of this month and finished second in St Moritz last week.

After winning in the downhill World Cup yesterday, she clocked 1min 19.23sec to earn another gold today and stay top of the overall standings.

Norway's Ragnhild Mowinckel earned a first World Cup podium finish since 2019 as she finished 0.33 behind Goggia, with another Italian in Elena Curtoni rounding out the top three, 0.51 off the pace.

Her compatriot Federica Brignone - winner of the super-G event last weekend - fell 0.01 outside the podium.

Goggia now holds a 65-point lead at the top of the World Cup leaderboard on 635.

The United States' Mikaela Shiffrin began the weekend setting the pace but had to settle for fifth place in the super-G and is now on 570.

Slovakia's Petra Vlhová remains third overall on 340, despite not competing in France.

The next women's super-G World Cup event is scheduled for Zauchensee in Austria on January 16.

The Alpine Ski World Cup circuit continues in France with back-to-back giant slalom events in Courchevel on Tuesday (December 21) and Wednesday (December 22).
