Austria's Jakob Dusek earned his first victory at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Cross World Cup while Michela Moioli won gold on home snow in Cervinia in Italy.

Moioli went up against Australia's Belle Brockhoff and American pair Faye Gulini and Lindsey Jacobellis in the final with the Italian coming out on top after a photo finish.

"I can’t breathe, because I had a lot of pressure on myself after the last races, which didn’t exactly go as I had hoped," said Moioli.

"And racing in Italy is amazing, my whole family is here, I really race for them and for my team.

"I knew that on this course I could get a good result, so I tried really hard.

"And in the big final it was a fight, but I am a fighter and now I am really happy.

"I really needed this victory."

The win gave her 100 points for the overall standings, taking her total to 186 and catapulting her to second place behind only Charlotte Bankes of Britain on 209.

Alongside Dusek, Australian Cameron Bolton, Spain's qualifying winner Lucas Eguibar and Canadian Eliot Grondin made it to the big final.

Dusek was explosive out of the gate and managed to take an early lead.

He had the reigning junior world champion Grondin on his tail, however, who attempted an overtake going into the first turn.

An immediate right turn followed though and allowed Dusek to shut the door on his rival.

Dusek managed to hold off all other challenges and held his lead until the finish line.

"It’s unbelievable, it’s the first victory for me and it feels amazing," he said.

"It was super fun to race today and the weather was just perfect.

"Unbelievable."

World Cup leader Alessandro Haemmerle of Austria crashed in the semi-finals but ended up winning the small final to gain enough points to enlarge his margin to 245 points while Dusek climbed to second with 166 points.
