Canada’s Mikaël Kingsbury led men’s moguls qualification at the International Ski Federation's Freestyle Ski World Cup in Alpe d'Huez.

The Olympic champion triumphed the opening World Cup event of the season in Ruka, before securing dual moguls honours at Idre Fjall in Sweden.

Kingsbury achieved a score of 84.74 points at the French resort to lead the rankings in qualifying, as 16 skiers earned places in the final.

Japan’s Ikuma Horishima proved the closest challenger to nine-time World Cup champion Kingsburg, as he received a score of 81.93 for his qualification run.

Horishima is seeking back-to-back moguls World Cup wins after triumphing in Idre Fjall, where Kingsbury finished in a disappointing eighth place.

Kazakhstan’s Pavel Kolmakov completed the top three in qualification on 79.86.

He will seek his second podium finish of the season in tomorrow’s final.

Australia’s Jakara Anthony achieved the highest score in women’s dual moguls qualification.

Anthony received a score of 83.31 points for her qualification run.

The 2019 World Championship silver medallist will look to secure a first World Cup win of the season.

Anthony has recorded second and third-place finishes in the two moguls events to date, while she completed the podium at the dual moguls competition in Idre.

France’s Perrine Laffont triumphed in Idre Fjall and will be looking for back-to-back triumphs.

The two-time dual moguls world champion placed second in qualification on a score of 79.74.

Japan’s Andri Kawamura was third on 77.46.

Moguls competition will be held tomorrow, with the dual moguls events taking place on Saturday (December 18).
