Australia’s Josie Baff, Canada’s Meryeta Odine, Italy’s Sofia Belingheri and Olympic champion Michael Moioli finished safely in the top five to advance.

Belle Brockhoff of Australia, American Stacy Gaskill and Canada’s Audrey McManiman earned the remaining qualification spots following the first run.

Sochi 2014 Olympic champion and Pyeongchang 2018 bronze medallist Eva Samková was required to participate in the second qualification run.

The Czech snowboarder, the reigning overall World Cup champion, advanced at the second attempt by leading the second run in a time of 59.83sec.

She will now seek a second win of the season, having triumphed in the opening event at Zhangjiakou's Secret Garden resort.

The top 16 snowboarders across the two runs will feature in the knockout stage of the event.

Visintin produced the fastest time in the first run of men’s qualification, finishing in 58.42.

Canada’s Eliot Grondin, the World Championship bronze medallist, placed second.

Italy’s Lorenzo Sommariva and Austria’s Alessandro Hämmerle rounded off the top four.

Reigning overall World Cup winner Hämmerle will seek a second win of the season, having beaten Visintin in Secret Garden.

The top 16 qualified via the first run, with a second run determining the other half of the participants in the knockout stage.

Competition will continue tomorrow, with a snowboard cross team event scheduled for Saturday (December 11).
