Hosts Sweden thumped Switzerland in the semi-finals of the Women's World Floorball Championship to secure their place in the final.

Sweden, who have won the last seven world titles and are strong favourites to retain their crown, battered Switzerland in Uppsala today.

Switzerland have featured in every semi-final since the Women's World Championship began in 1997 and lost to Sweden in the 2019 final, but hat-tricks from Wilma Johnson and Amanda Delgado Johansson were too much to handle on this occasion.

Emelie Wibron and Moa Tschop also got in on the act, scoring a brace apiece.

Sweden will play Finland in the final, after their great rivals defeated the Czech Republic 5-4.

The two teams have completed the final line-up five times out of the last seven World Championships.

Finland came from 2-1 down early on to claim victory, Veera Kauppi and Oona Kauppi both scoring twice.

The final is due to take place tomorrow.
