Austria’s Marita Kramer topped women’s qualification at the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lillehammer.

Kramer is seeking to secure her second win in three World Cup events, after winning the season-opening leg in Nizhny Tagil one week ago.

The 20-year-old impressed at the Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Arena today, achieving a distance of 96 metres in qualification.

The effort gave Kramer a score of 125.4 points, placing her at the top of the leaderboard.

Slovenia’s Urša Bogataj matched Kramer’s distance, but received a marginally lower score from judges.

Bogataj was left settling for second place in qualification on 124.1.

Norway’s Silje Opseth rounded off the top three with a distance of 93.5m earning her 117.4 points.

The top five was completed by Germany’s Katharina Althaus and Austria’s Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, who ended on 116.6 and 115.7 points respectively.

Bogataj, Althaus and Iraschko-Stolz each achieved podium finishes across the two World Cup events at Nizhny Tagil and will hope for a similar results over the next two days.

The World Cup leader Ema Klinec finished qualification in seventh place on a score of 111.4, after a jump of 88m.

The Slovenian ski jumper earned first- and second-place finishes at the opening two events of the season.

Back-to-back competitions will be held in Lillehammer, with the first event held tomorrow.
