Romania will contest the final of the International Esports Federation (IESF) World Championship Finals Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) event after overcoming North Macedonia here.

The semi-final of the multiplayer first-person shooter game proved a close contest, with Romania eventually edging North Macedonia 2-1.

The two teams could still meet in the final, with North Macedonia set to face the winners of a repechage.

Ukraine and Sweden will meet for the right to play North Macedonia after they triumphed in their opening repechage matches against Kosovo and Slovakia respectively.

Italy’s Carlo Vinci advanced to the semi-finals of the Tekken tournament following a surprise win here today.

Vinci had qualified for the knockout stage after finishing fourth in their five-team group, recording one win and suffering three defeats.

The Italian was drawn against the top seed from Thailand but clinched a 3-1 victory to reach the quarter-finals.

A 3-0 win over Poland saw Vinici progress to the last four of the competition, where he will face Richard "PiKaH" Donders on Belgium.

Kosovo earned a 2-0 win over Guatemala in their opening knockout match, before beating Hungary 2-1.

The Czech Republic earned back-to-back 2-0 wins over Sweden and hosts Israel respectively.

The winner of the match between the Czech Republic and Kosovo will progress to the final.

The beaten team will have a second chance when they play the winners of a "losers round" bracket, featuring Israel, Guatemala, Hungary and Sweden.

Group-stage matches in the eFootball PES Series tournament also concluded today, with the line-up for the knockout stage confirmed.
