Alina Nalbandian was among the stars at the World Underwater Federation Finswimming World Cup Golden Final in Sharm El Sheikh.

The Russian swimmer secured three victories during the competition in the Egyptian resort.

Nalbandian topped the standings in the women’s 50 metres, 100m and 200m surface finswimming competitions.

Her compatriot Maria Nadeina triumphed in the women’s 400m surface event, with Valeriia Solomatina winning the 800m competition.

Valeriia Andreeva secured gold in the women’s 50m bi-fins race, while Sofiya Lamakh was the winner of the 100m, 200m and 400m titles.

Russia’s Alena Parshina topped the standings in both the 50m and 100m immersion finswimming competitions.


There was home success in the men’s 100m surface finswimming event as Seif Eldin Ayman Hassan claimed gold.

The Egyptian also finished second to Aleksey Kazantsev in the 50m final.

Oleksii Zakharov was the fastest swimmer in the men’s 200m, 400m and 800m competitions.

Danylo Kolodiazhnyi was the winner of the men’s 50m, 100m 200m and 400m bi-fins races in a dominant display.

Aleksey Kazantsev clinched the men’s 50m apnoea finswimming title, while Stepan Vorobyev secured the men’s 100m immersion gold medal.
