The Czech Baseball Association (CBA) has launched a new project to support fans of the country's national teams.

According to the CBA, the scheme, called "Fan Club", will bring supporters closer to the players.

It will see the CBA create merchandise and help organise trips around the Czech Republic and abroad so that they can travel to follow the teams.

The CBA will also offer discount on its e-shop and organise autograph signings with players.

Lukáš Ercoli, a member of the CBA's media team, said the ultimate goal was for Czech baseball matches to be staged in front of full stadiums.

"The main idea is to have full stands in stadiums during our national team matches both in the Czech Republic and abroad at the European Championships," said Ercoli.

"In order to achieve this, we must offer our fans the best service and support them."

The CBA hopes to begin the project from the start of next season.

"We try to support clubs that play the highest competition in graphic activities and streams, so that they are marketing self-sufficient and we can focus more on representations," added Ercoli.

"At a time when baseball is a secondary sport in the Czech Republic, we must all pull together in marketing."
