International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Beatrice Allen and Lamin King Colley have been confirmed as candidates for the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) Presidential election.

The election is scheduled to take place at the GNOC Congress on November 27.

The winner of the election will succeed Dodou Joof, who has not sought re-election for the position.

Allen and Colley were nominated by the deadline on November 2.

A total of 27 national sporting bodies nominated the two officials for the position.

Allen secured 15 nominations from the national association, with 11 representing Olympic sports.

Allen is currently a GNOC vice-president and President of the Gambia Softball Association.

She has been an IOC member since 2009.

The Gambia Combined Sports Association President Colley earned 12 nominations from national associations.

Five of the associations are Olympic sports.

The election will take place at the Paradise Suites Hotel.



Lamin Kaba Bajo and Gambia Volleyball Federation President Bai Dodou Jallow have secured nominations for the first vice-president position.

Bajo currently serves as the second vice-president and President of the Gambia Football Federation.

Ousman A Wadda, who is the current treasurer of the GNOC, and Johnny Gomez are contenders for the second vice-president role.

Yorro Nije and Peter Prom are contenders to become GNOC secretary general.

Nije holds the same role at the Gambia Swimming Assocation, while Prom is Gambia Table Tennis Association President.

The treasurer position will be contested by Muhammed Momodou Jagana and Abdoulie MA Jallow.

Timothy Colley, Ba Keba Suso, Serign Modou Faye, Pa Assan Sylva, Momodou Suwareh and Ebrima Jawara have been nominated for three seats on the GNOC board, representing Olympic sports.
