Hungary is due to host the first edition of the V4 Teqball Tournament in Telki this week.

The men's doubles event will take place on Saturday (November 6) and feature the Visegrád Group or V4 countries - Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

Each country will select one team, with an initial round robin format preceding the final and bronze medal match.

Hosts Hungary have selected Balazs Katz and Balazs Velkey, who are ranked 17th and 18th in the world doubles standings.

World number 24 doubles player Lukas Flaks will represent the Czech Republic alongside his partner Petr Bubniak, who is ranked 43rd, while Slovakia have picked professional footballers Lukas and Adrian Hricov.

Poland have named Przemysław Mistrzak and Piotr Pinkiewicz as their team.

"A spirit of competitive friendliness will no doubt emerge as a result of this annual tournament, further fostering positivity in the sporting culture of the V4 and enhancing relations between the nations," the International Federation of Teqball said on its website.

"The V4 region is a hotbed for talented teqball players, with 16 of the top 50 ranked doubles players in the world all representing V4 nations. 

"The competition promises to be fierce, with plenty of good-natured rivalry."

After the round-robin stage, a showcase in Para-teqball will take place.
