Medals are up for grabs across three disciplines as the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) World Cup circuit moves on to Lyon in France.

Dressage, jumping and driving all feature across four days of competition, with dressage medals set to be decided in the Grand Prix freestyle to music on Friday (October 29).

The short Grand Prix competition takes centre stage tomorrow and, after winning both disciplines on home turf in Herning last weekend, Denmark’s Cathrine Dufour and Atterupgaards Cassidy will be the ones to beat.

The Jumping World Cup competition begins on Friday with the Grand Prix, before concluding with the World Cup event on Sunday (October 31).

The first round of the Jumping World Cup Western European League in Oslo earlier this month was won by Kevin Jochems of the Netherlands onboard Turbo Z.

Jochems, who triumphed after a seven rider jump-off, on what was his World Cup debut, is among the scheduled starters in the French city.

In the driving discipline, two days of World Cup competition are scheduled in Lyon on October 30 and 31.

This is the first scheduled round of the Driving World Cup season, with Australian Boyd Exell the current champion, dating back to the 2019-2020 season after last season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Exell is one of five qualified drivers for the World Cup in Lyon, alongside Koos de Ronde of the Netherlands, Mareike Harm of Germany, and two Belgian riders, Glenn Geerts and Dries Degrieck.

Two wildcard riders complete the scheduled line-up in Benjamin Aillaud of France and Jérôme Voutaz of Switzerland.
