Sabine Winter has played table tennis on the roof of the Olympic Stadium in Munich - a fitting location for a match given the slogan for next year's multi-sport European Championships is "Back to the Roofs".

Winter and her father, Mark, climbed onto the roof of the iconic venue with a collapsible and undersized table tennis table on the latest episode of #ClassOf22, a web series Munich 2022 has produced in the lead-up to the European Championships.

With the table attached to wires on the roof and therefore higher than regulation, they they played a few points in front of an arresting backdrop - although there was a long fall to the ground for any loose balls, so plenty were needed.

The stunt is the latest installment in Winter's quest to play table tennis in exotic locations, with previous venues including a mountain top, up a tree and while on a raft comprising two longboards for players to stand on.

"The path is a bit too narrow for the table, but there are posts that are about 1.20 metres high," Winter recalled on the episode.

"We just put the table tennis table on them and more or less fixed it with a few screws, so that it was really stable and couldn't fall down."

The Olympic Park in Munich is due to take centre stage when the city hosts the multi-sport European Championships next year.

Nine Olympic sports are on the programme, with athletics set to be held at the Olympic Stadium itself.

Table tennis will be played at Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle, another 1972 Olympic venue.

Earlier this month, Winter helped Germany win the women's title at the European Team Table Tennis Championships.
