Norway's Olympic champions Anders Mol and Christian Sørum dominated the International Volleyball Federation Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals final to claim yet another victory in 2021.

After producing a sensational comeback in the semi-finals to secure their place in this final, Mol and Sørum were much less wasteful this time around, needing just two sets to claim the win over the Czech Republic's Ondřej Perušič and David Schweiner.

Both sets were tight, but Mol and Sørum eventually ran out 22-20, 23-21 winners to add to their Tokyo 2020 and EuroBeachVolley triumphs this summer.

The bronze medal went to The Netherlands' Christiaan Varenhorst and Steven van de Velde, who agonisingly lost to Mol and Sørum in the semi-finals.

Varenhorst and van de Velde beat Italy's Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo 23-21, 21-17.

In the women's event, Germany's Karla Borger and Julia Sude bested Canada's world champions, Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes.

The Canadians were in imperious form throughout the FIVB World Tour Finals, having not lost a single match at the event, but in the final, it was Borger and Sude who performed their best.

An excellent opening set handed the Germans a lead, and they edged out a tight second set to claim the gold with a 21-13, 23-21 victory.

"We had a very tough season and I think after the Olympics we focused more on ourselves," said Sude.

"We tried to find ourselves on the court again in the last highlights, the European Championship, the German Championship, and now at the World Tour Finals, I mean the best 10 teams of the world play here, we end the season with a win.

"It’s a huge honour even to qualify to play here and now we have the trophy!"

The United States' Olympic champions April Ross and Alix Klineman won bronze, defeating Russian pair Nadezda Makroguzova and Svetlana Kholomina, who topped the pool stages without a loss, 21-8, 21-17.
