Membership of the International Esports Federation (IESF) has grown to 109 nations as Ghana became the latest country to be affiliated with the organisation.

An announcement was made by the IESF on Twitter, confirming the African country had joined as a member.

The Esports Association Ghana (EAG) - previously known as Esports Ghana and the Ghana Esports Association - was established in 2016.

In 2020, the EAG launched its website, taking a step towards further development of gaming in the nation.

Its affiliation comes less than a week after the EAG unveiled its new logo, as it looks to find more partnerships with businesses.

There are now 13 countries from Africa affiliated with the IESF with the others being the Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia.
