Los Angeles is set to host the first leg of the new Global Esports Tour, which is set to take place over two days in the build-up to the Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games later in the year.

Scheduled to begin tomorrow and continue on Tuesday (September 28), the Tour begins with the online collectable card game Hearthstone.

Launched by the Global Esports Federation (GEF) this year, a total prize pool of $500,000 (£365,000/€427,000) is on the line.

Another $500,000 will be matched by the GEF for its Global Social Impact Initiatives, a network of partnerships and social programmes to develop the world's esports communities.

Esports company FACEIT recently joined the GEF as a strategic partner for esports services, and will aid the organisation in developing and organising tournaments and events.

PUBG MOBILE and CS:GO are set to host legs in October and November in Riyadh and Dubai respectively.

Competition is set to be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.

Later this year, the Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games are set to take place from December 17 to 19.
