Eain Yow Ng's impressive Egyptian Open run continued in Cairo, with the Malaysian beating world number 11 Miguel Rodriguez to reach the quarter-finals.

One day after eliminating eighth seed Mostafa Asal on home soil, the world number 18 followed it up with a come-from-behind win against Rodriguez at New Giza Sporting Club.

All five sets were required, but it was the Asian Games team champion who emerged victorious - 5-11, 11-5, 11-9, 7-11, 12-10.

The 23-year-old's reward for reaching the last eight is a match versus top seed Mohamed Elshorbagy.

Elshorbagy beat Karim El Hammamy 11-8, 11-4, 11-9 in an all-Egyptian clash in front of the famous Giza Pyramid Complex.

Momen breezed past Spain's Iker Pajares Bernabeu 11-6, 11-1, 11-2, while Salem beat the American Shahjahan Khan 13-11, 5-11, 11-1, 11-7.

Top seed and defending champion Nour El Sherbini is into the women's last eight, via a straight-games win over Canadian Danielle Letourneau.

Farida Mohamed, who knocked out England's Lucy Turmel, awaits in an all-Egyptian quarter-final.

Another Egyptian, eighth seed Rowan Elaraby, also reached the quarter-finals with a straight-games win over Jasmine Hutton from England.

Camille Serme, seeded third, came from behind to beat Scotland's Lisa Aitken 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-1 and set up a meeting with Elaraby.
