Nigeria and the Ivory Coast have booked places in the AfroBasket knockout rounds with their second consecutive victories in Group C of the competition in Kigali - while Senegal have gone one better and are through to the quarter-finals.

The Nigerians beat Kenya 71-55, with the admirable effort of Albert Odero - who had a game-high 23 points and eight rebounds - in vain as Kenya succumbed to a second loss in a row.

Matt Costello led the way for the Ivorians as they swept aside Mali 90-67.

American-born Costello scored 25 points and provided 12 assists as the Ivory Coast raced into a commanding early lead they would never be in danger of losing.

Nigeria and the Ivory Coast will battle it out for top spot and a place in the quarter-finals in the next game, while Kenya and Mali both still have a shot at finishing third and reaching the round of 16, where the second-place finisher from Group D will await.

In Group D, which was also called into action at Arena Kigali in the Rwandan capital today, Uganda beat Cameroon 80-66 and Senegal smashed South Sudan 104-75.

Senegal are guaranteed top spot now with two wins from two, while Cameroon are out following defeats to South Sudan and today the Ugandans.

The Senegalese are the first side to be guaranteed a quarter-final place.
