World Para Dance Sport have announced an update to their calendar in the build-up to the World Championships in Ulsan this November.

A World Cup in the Russian city of St Petersburg from September 10 to 12 means there will be three events held before the sport’s showpiece competition.

The Prague 2021 International on August 14 and 15 will see the Czech Republic host a Para dance sport event for the first time, followed by the competition in St Petersburg the following month, which was also held around the same time in 2019.

The annual Polish Open is scheduled to return in Lomianki from October 8 to 10, the city which also hosted the European Championships the last time it was held in 2018.

The World Championships is scheduled for November 26 to 28 at the Munsu Gymnasium in the South Korean city of Ulsan.

This will be the first time it has been hosted in Asia since it took place in Tokyo in 2013.

It was hosted in the German city of Bonn the last time it was held in 2019.

Para dance sport ran its first international competition since 2020 back in June - the 2021 World Cup in the Italian city of Genoa.

This featured 21 events at the Tower Genova Airport Hotel and Conference Centre, with 82 competitors from across seven countries.

The sport’s calendar had been decimated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the European Championships in Genoa postponed last year along with the Polish Open in Lomianki, the Cuijk International in the Netherlands and the Mainhatten Cup in Germany.

The 2022 Cuijk International is currently the next scheduled event after the World Championships, with competition in the Netherlands due to take place from April 15 to 17.
