Venezuela were the big winners on day two of the Pan American Sambo Championships as they claimed four gold medals in Villavicencio.

The country added to their two titles yesterday in the Colombian city, including a victory for Hendrimar Rodriguez in the women's 54 kilograms division.

Lucas Borregales won the men's 58kg combat title at the Table Tennis Coliseum, with Hektor Urbano winning the men's 71kg combat.

The Venezuelans also topped the podium in women's combat sambo - a discipline not usually contested.

Rosbelis Guedes took top honours in the 50kg class.

Hosts Colombia, Costa Rica and United States each won two gold medals on the second day.

Sebastian Conteras won the men's 88kg combat sambo on home soil, with his compatriot Jazmin Torres winning the women's 72kg combat.

Costa Rican success came thanks to Daniel Diaz in the men's 64kg and Reina Cordoba in the women's 59kg combat.
