A new study has been launched to find out how people aged between 18 and 30-year-olds view the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Global Sports Week has created an online survey to gather data about the "perceptions and expectations of Gen Z" for the delayed Olympics and Paralympics here in the Japanese capital.

Two surveys will be conducted, with the first running until Friday (July 22) - one day before the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics - and the other set to be available following the conclusion of the Games.

"As part of the launch of the GSWClub, the following survey is designed to understand how your generation will live and experience the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games," a statement from Global Sports Week read.

"We’d like to explore your perceptions, discover your reality to understand the way you engage with this event.

"What do the Games mean to you?

"How do you feel about them?

"We’d like to hear about your personal stories."

Tokyo 2020 was originally scheduled to take place last year only to be postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Olympics are set to run from July 23 to August 8, followed by the Paralympics from August 24 to September 5.
