The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has helped to launch a new website dedicated to the continent of Africa.

wbscafrica.org is the continental governing body’s new website and it is set to come under the wbsc.org umbrella in line with the dedicated websites for the continents of the Americas, Europe and Oceania.

The website features news from around Africa, details of forthcoming events in the continent, information about member countries, news related to the baseball and softball world rankings and information about the organisation’s priorities for development.

WBSC Africa is the continent’s governing body for baseball, softball and baseball5, and oversees all national teams and club competitions.

The WBSC said: "As part of a global push and awareness-raising for the sport, the WBSC has made available a full package of knowledge, expertise and technology, in order to facilitate the framework, functioning and creation of robust content for the continental websites.

"With this initiative, WBSC aims to further contribute to the consolidation of the continental associations, making available for them a modern digital tool to improve their communication process and maximise their visibility, integrating them at the same time into the WBSC’s global digital strategy and Baseball and Softball World Cups."
