Teenage wildcard Emma Raducanu was one of the big winners at Wimbledon today, knocking out former French Open finalist Markéta Vondroušová to reach the third round.

Raducanu, 18 and from Bromley, less than 12 miles away from Wimbledon across southern London, broke the Czech four times en route to a 6-2, 6-4 victory.

Roamania's Sorana Cîrstea awaits, having knocked out Belarus' two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka in straight sets, and there is no longer a seeded player in their eighth of the draw - ensuring there will be at least one unseeded quarter-finalist.

With six of the top 10 women's singles seeds already out, the draw is open as many predicted.

Another 18-year-old, American Coco Gauff and Australia's top seed Ashleigh Barty each enjoyed straight-sets wins against Russian opponents, respectively Elena Vesnina and Anna Blinkova.

Reigning French Open champion Barbora Krejčíková is still on course to face Barty in the last eight, after beating German Andrea Petkovic 7-5, 6-4.

Another German, 2018 champion Angelique Kerber, enjoyed better fortunes, overcoming Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

In the men's singles, top-10 seeds Matteo Berrettini, Roger Federer, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev all won their second-round matches in straight sets.

Swiss great Federer - an eight-time Wimbledon champion - overcame Frenchman Richard Gasquet 7-6 (7-1), 6-1, 6-4.

Britain's Cameron Norrie, seeded 29th, will play Federer in round three.

Russian Medvedev, the second seed, beat 18-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz Garfia 6-4, 6-1, 6-2.

Zverev was not broken as he beat Tennys Sandgren of the United States 7-5, 6-2, 6-3.

There was also a three-set win for Australian Nick Kyrgios - who has criticised the length of the grass at Wimbledon - and he will play Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in round three.

Auger-Aliassime, 20, defeated Swede Mikael Ymer over four sets.

Italian Berrettini - seeded seventh and coming off a win at Queen's - was a 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) victor over Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp.
