Serbia edged out France in a thrilling final to secure their second International Basketball Federation Women's EuroBasket title in Valencia.

The Serbian side ran out 63-54 winners at Pavelló Municipal Font de Sant Lluís in a repeat of the 2015 final.

France, which co-hosted the tournament with Spain, have now lost the past five finals of the continental event having suffered defeat at the same stage in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

American-born Yvonne Anderson was the star of the show for Serbia as she racked up 18 points, while Jelena Brooks top-scored for France with 15 points and five rebounds.

Belgium defeated Belarus 77-69 thanks to a 21-point and 10-rebound double-double to claim the bronze medal for the second straight edition of the event.

Olympic bronze medallists Serbia, who went through the competition unbeaten, were ahead after every quarter of the final.

Serbia led by three after the first and took a 31-26 lead into the break.

A 17-14 scoreline in the third put Serbia further clear of their French opponents and they held on in the fourth to clinch the Women's EuroBasket crown for the first time since 2015.

Serbia and France have both qualified for the delayed Olympic Games in Tokyo, set to open on July 23.
