The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has held the first of two Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA) sessions online to discuss leadership and volunteers management.

The FVLA is an educational event designed to give aspiring leaders a variety of lectures and seminars about international university sport and how to manage volunteer programmes.

These will then be applied in their Continental or National University Sport Federations.

The first session introduced FISU and its activities, as well as lectures on leadership.

Presentations were also delivered outlining the best practices of the Student Ambassadors programme.

The introductory session was held earlier this week.

The FISU praised the positive dynamic of the session.

The FVLA was initially planned to take place in Kazan, but was moved online for the second successive year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A second session is due to be held online from September 8 to 10.

The FISU hope participants of the event will uphold the ambassadors’ tradition of continuity by helping their National Federations during the 2021-2022 season.

The volunteers will help to deliver action plans that they will develop together in September.

These action plans will be individually presented to FISU in October.
