Kenya's Olympic taekwondo qualifier Faith Wanjiku Ogallo has entered a pre-departure bubble camp as she prepares to head to Tokyo 2020.
The 27-year-old will compete in the women's over-67 kilograms heavyweight division in Japan after successfully coming through the African Qualification Tournament in Rabat, which was held in February 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic pushed back the Olympics by a year.
Ogallo, who won the silver medal at the 2019 African Games in Rabat, is able to continue training in the camp.
She is said to be "beaming with confidence", according to The Standard.
"The reason why I keep fighting is that I want Kenya's taekwondo team to become even better than it is currently," she said.
"I will continue to train and inspire others into taekwondo as I look forward to the Olympic Games.
"My goal is to change the face of sport in Kenya by winning an Olympic medal."
Ogallo will be the third Olympic taekwondo competitor from Kenya.
Milka Akinyi and Dickson Wamwiri both appeared at Beijing 2008.
