The line-up for the quarter-finals of the International Basketball Federation Women’s EuroBasket tournament was concluded following today’s four knockout round matches.

Serbia, co-hosts France, Belgium and Belarus all qualified automatically for the last eight after topping their pools and their opponents were decided as the second and third placed sides in each group met in four knockout fixtures in Valencia, Spain and Strasbourg, France.

Sweden scored 19 points in both the first and last quarters and won three of the four as they defeated Italy 64-46 to set up a meeting with Belarus.

The second match of the day at the Pabellon Municipal Fuente de San Luis in Valencia saw co-hosts Spain win all four quarters on their way to emphatically defeating Montenegro 78-51.

Spain scored 26 points in quarter one and 21 in quarter three on their way to setting up a last eight encounter with Serbia.

The closest match of the day was the first at the Rhenus Sport in Strasbourg, as Bosnia and Herzegovina scored 28 points in an impressive final quarter to overcome Croatia 80-69.

Bosnia and Herzegovina led by just two points going into quarter four but outscored their opponents late on to book a meeting with France in the last eight.

In the highest scoring match of the day, a dominant first quarter set the platform for Russia to overcome Slovenia 93-75.

Russia won quarter one 28-13 and were always in control of the contest from this point, setting up a last eight meeting with Belgium.

Following a rest day tomorrow, the quarter-finals are scheduled to take place on Wednesday (June 23).
