Argentina's match against Venezuela at the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Women's AmeriCup in Puerto Rico has been postponed due to "inconclusive" COVID-19 test results in the team's camp.

FIBA called off the fixture at short notice "with the health and safety of players, coaches and officials being the primary consideration".

The rest of the Argentine delegation at the tournament in San Juan has been placed into isolation and will be subjected to further testing before the Group B clash can be rescheduled.

On the court, defending champions the United States beat hosts Puerto Rico 87-65 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente to record their second straight victory in Group B.

Jennifer O'Neill starred for the US as she racked up 20 points, five rebounds and an assist.

Puerto Rico had led after the opening period before the US grew into the contest and took control of proceedings before closing out a comfortable win.

In Group A, Canada edged out Brazil 71-67 to maintain their unbeaten start to the event.

Clarissa Dos Santos was the game's leading scorer but her 21 points were not enough to prevent Brazil from suffering their first defeat.

Colombia overcame El Salvador 92-67 in the other match in the group.

The top four finishers at the tournament, which involves countries from North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean, will qualify for the 2022 Women's World Cup in Australia.
