Hosts Uzbekistan added two further golds on the second day of the Asian Sambo Championships in the capital of Tashkent as they won one of the two men’s titles and one of the two combat sambo categories.

Ikhtiyor Eshmurodov was the winner in the men’s 80kg category at the Tashkent Universal Sports Palace, beating Iran’s Saeid Seedimadani, with bronze going to Adilet Missin of Kazakhstan.

And in the combat sambo 71kg category, Istam Kadratov topped the podium for the hosts, with silver going to Temirlan Toktorbaev of Kyrgyzstan and bronze to Turkmenistan’s Rejepnur Agayev.

Agayev’s compatriot Charymyrat Annagurbanova won gold in the other combat sambo contest of the day at 98kg, with silver going to Kazakhstan’s Raikhan Madi and bronze to Bekbolsun Kerimbekov of Kyrgyzstan.

In the other men’s fight, the 64kg title went to Turkmenistan’s Muhammet Kossekov, with silver going to Kazakhstan’s Rakhat Zhananiyet and bronze to home fighter Khomidjon Muminov.

Kazakhstan maintained their domination of the women’s events as they added three more golds to the pair they had won on the opening day.

Marzhan Bizak contributed the first in the 54kg category, with silver going to home fighter Mailkabonu Mirzaeva, and bronze to Samara Abdumallik Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan.

Then Dildash Kuryshbayeva won the 72kg contest, with Turkmenistan’s Rano Uzakova taking silver and Kazakhstan’s Perizat Zhakypbelkova earning bronze.

The women’s over-80kg category saw victory go to Kazakh Arailym Abenova, with her compatriot Moldir Nurlanbek taking bronze, and home fighter Yulduz Mukhammadieva completing the podium.
