The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has agreed a technology partnership with Synergy Sports, which will run through until 2024.

It means major WBSC events, including the Premier12 and the Baseball and Softball World Cups, will benefit from Synergy's video and data analytics services.

Coaching and scouting services, as well as camera systems, will also be provided as part of the deal.

The ongoing Americas qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic baseball tournament is the first event to benefit under the arrangement.

"The partnership with Synergy Sports will provide access to innovative tools to the WBSC's members, as we continue to grow and evolve our sport globally and into the future," said WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari.

"Implementing the latest of what technology has to offer will also further enrich and modernise our World Cups/events, from scouting to coaching to the general viewing experience."

Synergy Sports chief executive Mark Silver added: "The WBSC is the premier governing body of baseball and softball around the world, hosting the highest level of international events and tournaments in both sports.

"We are proud to partner with such an influential organisation and leverage our technology to continue to improve baseball and softball around the world."

Through the partnership, Synergy Sports has become a WBSC official supplier, alongside Mizuno and SSK.
